Welcome to Magnolia Photography SC—I'm glad you're here.

My name is Jeff, and I’m a wildlife photographer based in Charleston, South Carolina. My work focuses on wildlife photography in Charleston SC and throughout the Lowcountry, where coastal marshes, tidal creeks, and diverse ecosystems create endless opportunities to document birds and wildlife in their natural environment.

How It Started

My journey into photography didn’t begin in the field with wildlife—it began in weddings.

I spent years working as a wedding photographer, learning how to work under pressure, manage light, and capture meaningful moments. But over time, the demanding schedule and constant weekend grind made me question what I truly wanted from photography.

During that transition, I found myself increasingly drawn back outdoors.

What started as casual photography on hikes and trips to local parks slowly became something much deeper. I realized that the moments I was most drawn to were not posed or planned—they were natural, fleeting encounters with birds, wildlife, and the quiet rhythms of the outdoors.

That shift changed everything.
