The Top 2020 Wedding Trends You Should Consider
2020 Wedding Trends
It’s time to look at wedding trends for the 2020 wedding season. As 2019 come to an end, what will weddings in 2020 look like? I’ve been doing a lot of research and thought I would share some of the trends we should expect to see.
The Return of Hotel Venues
Barns, tents and industrial spaces have lead the way over the past couple of years when it comes to wedding venues. However, many planners believe we will see a return to hotel venues in 2020. These venues generally allow for weddings that are closer to home and your wedding guests can enjoy the amenities offered by the hotels including their great food and service.
The urban hotel venues also reduce some of the stress for couples because they don’t have to worry about entertaining their guests throughout the wedding weekend. Wedding guests can easily explore the local area and enjoy dining, and shopping during their free time.
With hotel venues, it eases the stress of weather complications. Now your guests can enjoy your wedding celebration and their lodging accommodations at the same site.
Dramatic Engagement Sessions
The engagement session is one of the most important aspects of great wedding photography. It doesn’t happen because you have the best camera or best lens or the best lighting. While all of these details are important, truly great wedding photography begins with having a great relationship with your photographer. Not only do you really want to like their personality, but you want it to meld very well with yours. This is how you begin to build a trusting relationship that allows your photographer to capture your true essence.
In 2020, wedding planners are predicting that we will see more dramatic engagement sessions. Couples are expected to step out of the park environments and become more adventurous. Engagement sessions at waterfalls, in fields with horses or really unique locations that have a special meaning to you and your partner.
Specialty Liquor Bars
If there’s one thing your wedding guests appreciate, it’s an open bar. Specialty liquor bars are likely to be one of the favorite wedding trends in 2020! Whether it’s whiskey, tequila or champagne you can spoil your guests with your favorite spirit. Show your guests how much you love this specialty drink by serving it in proper glassware, using various garnishes and serving it with or without ice, as a shot or as a mixed drink. Let your imagination run wild and make a statement!
Go Big Or Don’t Go At All (With Your Veil)
2020 is expected to feature wedding dresses that have bolder styles, especially when it comes to the veil. Planners expect to see veils that are supersized! Priyanka Chopra’s veil required 6 attendants to get it down the aisle. The Dutchess of Sussex also took her veil to the next level and it required 2 page boys. Now you might not go quite that big with your veil, but veils with a lot of extra length are expected. Planners also feel that we will see many brides electing to go without a veil. For 2020, it looks like it will either be super long or nothing at all.
There you have it. A few of the biggest wedding trends we expect to see in 2020! What do you think? Will you include any of these trends in your wedding?
